Kementerian Agama merupakan lembaga resmi negara yang telah menghamburkan uang rakyat dan tidak bertindak saat terjadi konflik antar agama. Agama di negeri ini masih menjadi alat pemecah belah. Salah satu contoh adalah, dilarangnya pernikahan beda agama. Selain itu, pencantuman agama di KTP juga merupakan salah satu campur tangan negara dalam ranah pribadi rakyat, yang harus dihapuskan. Pelecehan terhadap kelompok-kelompok “minoritas” atas nama agama juga dibiarkan terjadi. Contohnya adalah (SKB) 3 Menteri tentang Ahmadiyah, yang mendiskriminasi kelompok ini.

When I was a bright 5^th elementary scholar, I attended Bible class every Wednesday for two hours every week after noon mass at school. I remember the teacher; Michael was a brother in love with God. He teaches us about the original sin, Adam and Eve in Eden and the angels. He told us a story of how lonely Adam was after he saw all the animals in the kingdom each have a pair, so God puts him to sleep and removed one of his ribs to create Eve. “You see, that’s why all male human has one rib missing. You boys need to find your missing rib when you grow up!” Michael said to us. All boys at the class automatically felt their chest to see whether they’re really missing a rib and after that they’re browsing the girls in class. Naturally, they’re looking at the cutest girl. Then there’s one boy that I like very much that time suddenly fixed his eyes on me! He kept staring at me and I can feel that my skin turned from white to red and then puke green. So I audibly cleared my throat, preparing myself to say something… anything..

And then he said:

“I hope I get anyone but her”

The sound of laughter was unbelievably loud. I can see all the faces looking right at me, all the fingers pointing and the ones that don’t are busy groping their stomachs, probably to prevent their intestines from bursting… like Michael’s.

Then at that moment, while I was exposed by that boy for the whole class and probably, the whole world to see.. I see this tanned female giant, sitting on a wooden chair. Her dull hair is cut like a bowl and her limbs are ridiculously long, like they’ve been stretched out by the doctor when she was born.

And that female giant is me.

That particular event surely left deep scar inside me. Starting from that moment, I feel sorry for the guy who happened to share his rib with me.

Lazy Saturday Noon

Today is the day for the winds to dance at the area where I recently called home.
The winds embrace, stroke, caress all that are willing to dance along.
I see the trees swaying side to side in the rhythm of fractions, people and the cheering sounds of my wind chimes.
The dog is lying lazy across the other side of the porch, sometimes grumbles upon the fact that there’s a fence preventing him from chasing the stray cat on the other side of the road.
Ah, the front door neighbor has some visitor. Two young men of average build and height.
That’s my cue to go inside.

state of the unrest part 1

Here I am, sitting neatly on the sofa. Today, the sun shines brightly almost to a blinding point. Squinting my eyes to slits, I know it won’t help me from the glow.
I’m here fully clothed, face powdered and painted. I finally found my white mary jane that goes perfectly with the blue han bok with batik patern. My hair pulled into a bohemian up do with a korean twist.
With all this, where am I going?
I’m going to see a stranger with a prospect of marriage. This man is appointed by my older sister, so I need to look my best as not to put shame.
Haven’t I told my self that I’m ready? However, still my heart beats to aching point.
Thump.. Thump.. Thump..
My selfish yet gullible heart screams in silence.
It cries ‘I still want to wait! I still believe in freedom! I still want love..’
My body yet froze, not responding to the cries. Nobody can know how heart broken I was.

The Uztad, The brats and the insomniac

These kids need a good bashing on their heads. I don’t think screaming allahuakbar on falsetto notes for the whole city IS called worshiping!! Giggling while they’re at it isn’t very wise too. But here I am, stuck on my parents house, a place that I lived for 27 years, that anarchist mosque has gone to no point but getting worse.

Don’t get me wrong. I have no personal vendetta againts the muslims, but I HAVE A BONE TO PICK WITH THIS MOSQUE!

Situated in between a packed residential area, standing on a land of 500M2, is what used to be a very small mosque. Right now, with the help of some rich but (still) uneducated Batavian, this mosque had turned into a lump of concrete with 3 stories and equiped with 8 (this time I really count) mega speakers.

On the regular 5 times a day basis, the mosque would start calling. As one of the resident I’m expected to understand that this is their god given right to do so and yes I can take that.

I didn’t even complain every time my friend drops by the house and got scared shit of the noise they made.

I even endured their after sholat hearings, even when the Uztad specifically told his people NOT to come visit during christmas because we will try to feed them pigs and dogs.

I even held myself everytime the women had their arisan inside the mosque and share tips about Vaginal Douche, Limp dicks and whatever it is in gossip store without realizing the outside world can hear.

But this is just too much.

First of all, this is midnight. Those uztads have brought children with them to chant along with them. Most of them can’t even pronounce the can’t, the sang in falsetto and they’re giggling while they’re at it.

The speakers is set to the max and I can even hear people/kids breathing, cursing, running and laughing behind all the person holding the mic. I can even hear all of those distressed cattle. At least there are living beings apart from me getting pissed.

I just hope whatever they’re doing, they better do it right. They’re sacrificing too many in the name of God. Not just a few of cows and goats that they’re slaying, they’re slaying my eardrums and my tolerance, all in the name of God.

10 simple ways to use less oil | Greenpeace International.

This entry comes by popular request. A lot of people have been asking what they can do to use less oil, and reduce demand for the sticky stuff ruining beaches everywhere. Here’s my top ten, feel free to add to it in comments:

1. Carpool, cycle or use public transport to go to work.

2. Choose, when possible, products packaged without plastic and recycle or re-use containers.

3. Buy organic fruits and vegetables (fertilisers and pesticides are based on oil more often than not).

4. Buy beauty products (shampoo, soap, make-up) based on natural ingredients, not oil.

5. Choose when possible locally produced products (less transport involved).

6. Buy clothes made out of organic cotton or hemp – not from oil derivatives.

7. Use non-disposable items in picnics and summer festivals.

8. Quit bottled water.

9. Fly less.

10. Demand that your government encourage renewable energy instead of subsidizing oil.

My Mother’s White Banyan Tree

The tree grows in front of my house near the gate, the only beautiful creature that lives in my house. It’s actually a combination of two trees; the root is from a green banyan tree and the top from white banyan tree. So whenever it’s mood strikes or maybe the season, the leaves turns green, white or sometimes both. It’s always a wonder how you can be moved by something you deemed beautiful, while others passed it. To me the banyan tree dances to the breeze more graceful than any ballerina. It’s colors are more elegant than any dress.

Akasha Villa

Went here for the wildest party ever!!

Located 100 meter from the beach, I could only hear the thundering sounds of the waves mildly in the background contemplating the R&B music that the host played from his Itunes. After packing my bags, moving out from Bali Desa, I was exhausted but the ambiance of this place managed to swept some of the fatigue. The host was a handsome young Malaysian Socialite with a taste of matured ladies. Unfortunately, I was there with my recent escort client and friend.

The waiters immediately served me with warm food, while the host opens a new bottle of red wine. There was a Yoga Instructor, her name escapes me now. She was refined and composed. The lady that seemed to be close to the host, Melati was from Borneo. I think she’s just about my age.

The party went wild when another guest arrived with 3 girls. We were drunk and bothered. The pool served as an instant cooling agent, so we just plunged in with our clothes intact.

I realized that the hotel management really respects our privacy. It showed that they put 1 security guard on our door and by the time I went home to Westin when the party goes wilder, I’ve noticed that whatever the noises goes inside the quarter, they stay inside. Unbelievable soundproofing!

I totally recommend this for private partying, honeymoon and getaway trip.

Since I went there midnight, the room service was off, but the catering was good and the ambience rocks!

The pool looks big on the picture, but actually its pretty small.

We occupied the villa that has three individual quarters (1 living room, 2 separated bedrooms) that surrounds the pool.

The place is a bit secluded, so either you need a good taxi (not advisable to take other than bb group) or get a good driver!
